So any team now could just refuse to come and play and they could get a draw, what a disgrace.

Yeah I agree Arctic, cricket is becoming a bit of a joke now.

Unfortunately politics seems to be playing a greater role nowadays.

Back to the original topic, I think it's disgraceful. Pakistan refused to take the field, and whether they were guilty of ball-tampering or not is irrelevant. They could always have complained through the 'proper channels'. Unfortunately, Cricket is seeing a 'white/others' split, which is why nothing is being done about Zimbabwe. The 'others' want to keep Zim to keep their majority (Eng/Aus/SA/NZ = 4, Ind, Pak, SL, WI and Zim = 5).

What the .... is this possible that a team does not show up and get a draw.
Imagine in World Cup a team has 4 points and the other team has 2 points but higher Strike rate so if they win that match they will have 4 point but higher strike rate so they will be in semis. But the team with 4 points refuses to play that day then ??? lolz what will happen if cricket is so easy to bend the rules.

That's rather disappointing to see a Cricket match end in a draw. Jeez what are things coming to nowadays. A draw might seem like a bit of a desperate measure, but it's difficult to understand to how this actually ended up happening regardless of the blames on the umpires.

just see the umpire darell hare he just brought a politics in the game he blamed pakistan for ball tempering but he didnt check so thats why pakistan's skipper inzamam were angry and said why he blamed us thats why he didnt come to the ground.
and in my opinion his decision were right
i think that type of umpires should be banned and just take off from this beautiful world of cricket

I think it was a fair decision, because a team can't just refuse to take the field and expect no consequences. On the other hand, I am no fan of Darrel Hair either because he's a racist fellow who discriminates against Asians. World Cricket is better off without such people umpiring.

I can't see how anyone can back this decision - It is a complete and utter joke that laughs in the face of the laws of cricket. Yes, I accept that Daryll Hair was wrong and that Pakistan did not tamper with the ball. However, that is something which should have been investigated after the match with the benefit of television replays, analysis of the ball and so forth.

However, to throw your toys out of the pram and cheat the public out of a match is unforgivable. Yes, he was insulted and rightfully so, but that doesn't give him the right to bring the game into disrepute.

All it says is that if things aren't going your way and you feel hard done-by by the umpire, refuse to go out after an interval and you get a draw out of it.
