Huo Yuan Jia - the fearless Empty Huo Yuan Jia - the fearless

Have any one seen the movie Huo Yuan Jia aka the fearless. In the film master Huo Yuan Jia was poisoned by the Japanese by adding it to his dring while he was in a fighting bout. I heard that he was dies due to intake of poison, but actually was he dead in the ring like shown in the movie?
