17 days to go...
Beijing Olympics 2008. Just 17 days to go.
Pullela Gopichand, Indian Badminton Shuttler qualified for OLYMPICS.
And, his comments on the occasion: .. "... The moment I came to know that I qualified for the Games, more than happiness, it was pressure to perform." .. " I think about four years from now, badminton will be a big sport and we can expect an Olympic Medal (for India) in 8-10 years." (two more olympics to go?).
He is currently the Indian national coach for badminton.

a special fraud ...
As you rightly pointed out.... the prices are too high. And, it triggered a special type of fraud.
Many an enthusiast were duped out 100s of dollars, when a trickster misguided
them, promising VISA, TRAVEL and VISIT to the total OLYMPIC games at Beijing.
He had done it so perfectly that - authorities were very slow in detecting.
But, as with any fruad, he was caught and is being prosecuted.
It is common sports enthusiasts who have lost money and chance.
---- By the way, any ideas about how we shall bring the OLYMPICS to use
in this forum?

Re: 17 days to go...
The countdown till the start of the 2008's Olympic Games continues. We are only a few days away from another great sports event that will keep the eyes of the world upon China!
Not that they weren't out of sight lately... there were many events in China that has drawn the attention of the world on them...
I would call the Olympic games the sport event of the year!
I do believe that the Olympic games we'll be here at this forum all the time... we will be commenting on the competitions, results and everything related to the Olympic games.
It will be a very busy forum on that period, I bet

I have the same feel to see the biggest sport event to kick off. This is a big game as we can see participants from all around the world gather together. Especially, this time held in China, as a Chinese, I'm proud of it.

Nah the olympics are too far away. I really don't feel like going all the way to China when I can watch everything in a press of a button from the comfort of my own home. A high definition TV is all I need in regards to the Olympics, besides I get plane sick!
