Which player do you think has been over priced and done nothing?

I think Schevchenko has been a total waste at Chelsea, and maybe somebody like Owen to Newcastle.

Well it has to be Delap to Southampton for £4,000,000. What a complete waste of money, easily one of the worst players to pull on Southampton shirt.......... yet he has made it back to the Premiership with Stoke. Madness!!

Delap really was bad, bit like Jody Craddock to us, I thought he was a complete waste of space. Least we didn't buy him

The thing which annoys me with him, is I expected great things from him. In the end we haven't even got that.

Perhaps that is one of the main reasons why the transfer of Schevchenko was a waste of money. He didn't had many chances to play, couldn't demonstrate what he is capable of. With more played minutes on the field, he could have showed more of his skill and talen, and might have scored a few goals.

I don't understand why was he brought to the team... just to stay on the bench most of the time? He was like an expensive reserve... Players should play, not sit on the bench!

Shawn Wright-Philips went for a crazy amount, considering his ability. If I was a player, I'd never go to Chelsea unless I'd get first team games 90% of the time.

Delap is the most wasted.. He's getting WAYYYYY too much Euros..

Perhaps that the reason Jose Mourinho finished his career in Chelsea. He is an enigmatic and extremely intelligent coach, and also like to spend money on player transfer.

Massimo Taibi wasn't Ferguson's best buy. Bought for £4.5 million, conceded several bad goals in 4 games, including an optimistic shot from Matt Le Tissier that went through his legs from 30 yards out. Eventually sold for £2.5 million, later in the season.

I totally agree with you giving them suck a hell a lot of money and all they do is sit on a bench and see the match from out side the field. And when he is on the field he is not that good or he never get the ball.

Yeah i agree Schevchenko is not that wanted in Chealsea at all.

i think they are all a waste of money. every single one of them. getting 100 grand a week to kick a ball. i mean, ffs. its not exactly rocket science, is it. sayin that, if someone wanted to pay me oh, lets say 2 grand a week to kick a ball i would =)

This one is just too easy for me to pick. David Beckham, heh. I think David has his moments in football but generally I see him more of a celebrity for the young ladies to idolize. If David played with Manchester UTD or Chelsea I'd have more respect for the man, but as of now he's on Galaxy living like a celebrity in the US.

In my humble opinion lol, even spending on sports is an utter waste. We can use the money for various other good reasons which could be more productive. I don't care about the club or the sports man either. However for fitness yes i think it is a good idea

Honestly I think all players are a bit overpaid. I mean come on, our own President of the United States doesn't even make as much as professional athletes do, and in my opinion there is something seriously wrong with that.

The president of the United States probably isn't as smart as half of the athletes that are getting paid more than him anyway, so I don't think it's something we will have to worry about until he's out of the office. Entertainment is a big business, after all.

Anelka and Kanu weren't among our best buys - They've gone on to do alright elsewhere mind...

Shevchenko was certainly one of the biggest wastes of money in recent years. A lot of people criticised his form, though as somebody else mentioned, a player needs to play. How on earth are you going to come into form coming on as a mid to late second half sub most of the time?

I can't say Beckham was a waste of money - Sure he's getting paid an obscene amount, but he's also raised the profile of football (or should that be soccer?) in the States so much that it's probably not a bad long-term investment on LA Galaxy's part.

Well it has to be Delap to Southampton for £4,000,000 was really a complete wastage of money .they can hire any other world class player for such a large amount of money
so in my opinion i think when take these types of steps the team admin should see the past performances
