2008 Olympic Basketball

The Olympics are near and many nations and gearing up for the challenge. Here is the official website if anyone is interested.

Will be a very tough competition. I think USA will win, but they are going to be pushed all the way.

I think argentina will really give everyone a run for their money. Also I do agree I think the US does have a good chance of winning.

I tip Argentina, also I think Italy could provide a few shocks. I see America losing in the Semis or Final, as they seem to buckle sometimes.

I dont see italy as a competing team who is on their roster?

Italy don't have any individual great players, but I think they play well as a team, and will raise a few eyebrows at the Olympics.

That's right... the Olympics are near and near with each day that passes by.

This event - basketball is one of the events that I am waiting the most. As a former basketball player I like this sport very much!

I am very curious about the results as there are many powerful team out there! The US, Argentina and the Lithuanians are all looking strong!

I am sure that we will see some interesting and even thrilling matches. I can't wait for them to start!

Well the thing i do not like about olympics is that the game is played by European Rules. Which is pretty bad for all the NBA players. They are used to more physical gameplay. My national team is not in the olympics so i will be rooting for USA. I hope and i think they will win.

Hhahah. Try again mate. USA have missed olympic gold medals only couple of times. I am not pretty sure but i think it was something like that. And the team that got away from them in Athen was Argentina.

I would go for US team. But I think the other teams has also a lot to offer. so lets just see who will be crowned champions this year!

Americans took a gold medal for granted last Olympics. They're not going to make the same mistake again. They're playing with a lot of heart, and quite frankly, if they match the intensity level of other teams, no other team in the world stands a chance. Americans should have an easy path to gold.

I just heard that the American Womens Basketball Team just won their gold. I think they also said it was the 4th Olympics in a row they've done so. I guess people need to start watching the WNBA a lot more often now.

Before the Olympics started I said within myself that Spain would be the only team with a chance of touching the USA, and in the gold medal game they really gave us a nice push. The best team won, though!

The basketball is going to be especially great this 2008 year. I heard Dirk is bringing his team from Germany which I am very excited for. I'm looking forward to the final game, it's much to early to tell what county or team will take it all the way though.

It's oveeer... the gold medal game was a few nights ago, wasn't something to miss, either. The USA took gold, Spain took silver, and Argentina went for bronze. I'm glad that we weren't upset this year again, being beaten by Greece really put a bad taste in my mouth as a US basketball fan. It's back to where it should be now, though.

What kind of taste was it? Was it the same taste France is tasting right now behind their taste buds?

Back on topic, I'm not surprised America took gold, when I think about basketball, the first thing that comes in my mind is America, so I'm glad America stuck to their name and won gold.
